Poker player arrested in Ireland, accused of cheating at poker

In a bid to clean up the world of poker, a man in Ireland has been arrested and accused of a scheme of cheating by cheating with his fellow players.

Joe DeLuca, a poker player from Galway, was arrested on Thursday, the Irish High Court said in a statement.

The 46-year-old, who is in his late 30s, is alleged to have cheated with a total of 17 poker players from his home town of Killarney, the court statement said.

Mr DeLucas, who had not been named in the court document, was charged with fraud and criminal breach of trust.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to the court, Mr DeLucis was also accused of attempting to bribe the two poker players with £40,000 ($50,000).

He is also accused in the criminal breach.

Mr De Luca has been released on bail until the end of February.
